Disability Contacts
1 min readApr 5, 2023
As a registered disabled student, you’ll get support from Disability Services. But you also have a point of contact within your academic school.
Disability Contacts are members of staff (both academic and support) who work with Disability Services and academic staff to ensure that your reasonable adjustments are put in place.
Disability Contacts are here to:
- Share your disability information with student support and academic staff who are directly involved in your learning & teaching
- Make sure that your reasonable adjustments are put in place
- Signpost students who may benefit from support to us in Disability Services
- Share important info from Disability Services with you like reminders about exam deadlines, news and events
- Make sure you are supported in your physical environment such as on field work, in the lab or in your office
- Our postgrad Disability Contacts also bridge the gap between Disability Services and your PhD supervisor, and are a point of contact for your funding enquiries
You can find the Disability Contact for your academic School on our website.
