What is assistive technology?

Assistive technology is the term used for specialist equipment or computer software which helps you to work and study more effectively.

Examples of assistive technology available include:

Voice recognition
Screen readers
Productivity tools
Mind-mapping and organisational tools

Proofreaders

At Leeds, there is a range of technology available free of charge to any student or member of staff, whether disabled or not.
